Combiwave – Microwave and Refrigerator

Here is idea for those who want life to be an ease.

Many times we think, as we can heat things in microwave or make food instantly.. can we make something cold instantly ? There are good high power refrigerators which does that but then you are using 2 devices..

Say i got something to eat and i like to eat that cold.. and it is burning hot.. i open my “Combiwave” and put it for 10 seconds and it is cool..  same what we do in microwave.. just cold instead of hot.

Now, again why make it complicated and have 2 things.. can these 2 things be clubbed ? Cold and hot..

Another area of electronics market..

We try to add non-IT ideas also so that it becomes a general blog instead of just an IT blog.

Internet Media Player for car, phone, office and home

We have been using conventional players, high-end touchscreen players for playing music in our car, at office or in house. However, it takes time toll on transferring and keeping all the music on all these different devices.

Also, i face this trouble that i downloaded some music on my PC but now i will need to copy on my mobile or burn a CD to listen it in car or put it on USB for listening it everywhere.

The idea is to create a small device which can store all my music and i can keep it in my home or office.. keep my songs there and have all devices whether its car, office, phone or home to fetch music from that device and allow me to use it.

Second idea is may be a company can keep a central server, charge you a specific monthly subscription fee and your audio player can allow you to connect to that and listen to the music you want. Company keeps all the songs and their rights etc.. This will also solve piracy issues somewhere.

This could be a whole new opportunity for audio player manufacturers, car manufacturers, music industry in whole.

Long Battrey Life for CellPhone

This is actually a wishlist idea and i am sure there are several mobile companies working on this idea and have thought of this idea.

There are many cellphone users around the world and biggest problem is keeping enough charge in cellphone or to keep it on charge somewhere and stay far from your loved cellphone. I have seen many travelers on Airport charging their phones.

Now, what is the solution. Hmm.. several people have found their own ways.. keeping additional battery, extra power pack, car charging, even NFC now. Biggest challenge is to give more power to battery yet keeping it lightweight.

There is no direct solution, but there could be a mix of several things like conventional chargers, solar charging embedded into mobile phone but all can keep the things same or make phone bulkier.

But there is one thing which can be done and that is quick charging – There can be an additional input for high-voltage charger which provides really high voltage to the phone and charges your battery completely in say less than 5 minutes.

Commission Marketing Portal

This idea is specifically for SMBs. There are many SMBs who are looking to spread their wings in several countries, several areas.. but are short on marketing budgets and ultimately short on marketing skills.

However, on the other side there are several people all around the world who are interested in making some extra quick money to provide assistance or to work additional time to get something.. but they don’t have anything to sell.

What if we have a portal, which provides connectivity between SMBs and marketers. SMBs can post their products/services/prices and marketing commission and other details. Marketers can look at the products and choose what they want to sell and try to sell, get more information from SMBs.

There are affiliate networks but they have routine products and many networkers are earning from that.. But there are tons of other things which can be sold and marketed.

A business model on this idea can be tough to create and we leave that to your thoughts.

Enormous potential to connect 2 individuals to create more employment and business growth.

Global task list

Everyday i think that there is one good software which can help me setup my tasks.

Some are overdone with tons of features which very less people use. Others have no interaction or are in limited capabilities.

What is required is an easy, simple but available across all the platforms. A task list which is available on IPAD, IPhone, Blackberry, Android, Other Mobile Phones and PC over the web.

Idea is that wherever we are we should be able to add the tasks or see the tasks. There may be sometimes when a task need not be associated with a date or time or any place.. it could be a simple task for me like to take medicine or call up someone today..

All devices should have single logon with sync feature to sync in real time. This could be a real simple, easy to use and a great app which can have a large audience.

There could be additional features like mailing the task list or a task to someone, or forward as SMS to someone.. but not many many features.

Buy Back Machine or Store

A wishful idea..

Do you sometimes think that there should be a buy back machine or a buy back store.. which gives you good value of your good stuff.

It happens in garage sale a bit but not really that well..

Idea is actually inspired from ecoATM where you can put your old mobile/cellphone and get money or coupons. However, this is limited to mobile/cellphones and some other electronic devices.
What i am thinking about is a store which takes old unused items of whatever type – be it a machine, clothes, toys, electronics and provide you standard price.. This will help in recycling as well as would give people a habit of using things properly.

It could be old books, dvds or no. of other items. I am not talking about garbage but there are really good items sometimes which we either throw in garbage or it just keeps lying in one corner of our house occupying space.

I believe there could be an entire new genre of retail which can be developed from this as “used items” or “seconds shop”.

A Bigger Garage Sale..

————————————————————————————–
Additional Info on request of  Andrew on Nov. 28, 2011

Here’s how i feel this can become a business model.

There are 2-3 ways depending on the type of investment:
1. A chain of stores can be opened, small sized stores where users can place their old items and get a token or a specific id. May be fill up a small form providing details about the item, expected price etc. Item is checked by a store executive and once approved, it is put up for sale. Anyone moving around can purchase the item and once purchased, payment [after deducting store fee] can be made to the seller. Also, another option is to place a small fee for placing your item there.. it sells then great, if it doesn’t sell then you loose.. An eBay type of fee structuring in real world.

2. Second option is that an alliance can be made with C-stores or fast food corners and a bag or a small bunk is placed where people can leave their item and get the id for the same.. Could be a self operating Kiosk which takes the item and gives ID no. with a form to fill up the details of product. Then items can be collected by a mega store within specific radius and put up for sales. Idea is to make it a brand ultimately where people can say.. it doesn’t look old and it is certified by this store so it is better than what we would get elsewhere and we are getting it for less than half the price.. why not.

3. Third option could be a virtual store i.e. e-store.. but the issues there are of shipping, people don’t want to pay for something which is lying ideal in the house. They ofcourse may want to get rid of it or just sell it and get some money still but shipping it somewhere.. its gonna cost. This model has to be very different where e-store can ask to send products pre-shipped after sending photos of product and details etc.. There are still good chances of loosing money as the product may not be as good as it is shown.

There are several other ways where users can get some exchange in return immediately, like get a free coffee or free cookie when you drop your item.. Other ideas could be to arrange for garage sale events in special community and sell things there itself or pick up items at one shot on every Sunday from a particular area.

PC with Internet OS

I don’t think this is a new idea or I am the first one thinking about this.

Since the invention of Cloud Computing, this may be coming to mind of every big company or a cloud user.

Anyway, here is what I think the future of computing is leading to and whoever jumps first will get benefit.

I was just thinking one day while surfing internet and was estimating the general use of computer by any user [NON- IT].. Even senior level IT guys. I came to a generic conclusion – no statistics and no base for these figures. Just my thoughts,
an average user checks his emails, checks facebook or twitter accounts, write to blogs, play some online games, chat with friends, use word/excel/powerpoint and that’s it.

And i am  fairly assuming that out of total PC users, these type of average users are pretty high number as big as 70%.

Now with Cloud Computing, we also have word/excel/powerpoint or similar application hosted online so we even don’t need them installed on our PC. It has been probably 3 months that i have opened excel on my computer. I use Excel and other spreadsheet programs online.

Ok.. but what’s big deal in this.. Lets think..

What if we have a LOW LOW cost PC which doesn’t come with a Big OS,  we just connect internet using a general ethernet cable or a Wi-Fi and we get on internet, use all applications online.  A PC can be equipped with a small micro controller which can allow interface with the network card, somewhat similar to the old systems where we used to connect to Novell Netware and boot PCs using the server.

So, when internet is connected, it is connected directly to a HOST server, Server provides all GUI interface etc and boots our PC and makes it ready for using internet, which should not take more than few seconds. HOST Server can charge users a monthly or a yearly fee to provide that service.

That would be real Cloud computing and future.

Electronic Books for Kids

Here comes an idea from the Green world – Save Earth ideas. I am sure Paper companies are going to be against us on this.. but truly if you consider global warming then this idea is for you.

Kids use lot of paper – in school, at home.. infact everywhere..
What if kids get an electronic paper to write on which saves and then you can copy it to PC or something.. It is difficult for a 4th or 5th grade school kid to carry an entire laptop bag and very expensive to give them an IPAD.. its not that they don’t get it but difficult to give it for School.

So, why not a paper thin writing pad with a pen.. where they can write say around 40-50 pages.. they come home, plug a usb cable in notebook or PC and copy over all notes.

Just imagine, how easy it would be to share notes.. i still remember writing tons of notes from my friends and hands used to pain like anything.. With this it is easy.. Parents are not worried about books getting wasted.

Once this comes then it can be used for examinations.. Actually i strongly suggest that government should start taking online exams instead of paper exams.. will save lot of costs and teacher’s pain, result preparation issues.. Life will be real easy…

However, it is not an easy ideas as it looks.. will require lot of research and  biggest problem is people copying the idea so soon that you won’t even get a chance..

I am not sure if someone calls me tomorrow and tells that this idea is a patent and i have to remove this post.. If not, why not patent it and start making world a better place with our pockets filled..

NFC Based Payments

Ok.. the future of telecom industry for next 2-3 years seems to be NFC [Near Field communication]. Many companies worldwide have already started working on NFC..

Lets see what is NFC [I am taking references from google, wikipedia etc. to explain what is NFC]

Near field communication, or NFC, allows for simplified transactions, data exchange, and wireless connections between two devices in proximity to each other, usually by no more than a few centimeters. It is expected to become a widely used system for making payments by smartphone in the United States. Many smartphones currently on the market already contain embedded NFC chips that can send encrypted data a short distance (“near field”) to a reader located, for instance, next to a retail cash register. Shoppers who have their credit card information stored in their NFC smartphones can pay for purchases by waving their smartphones near or tapping them on the reader, rather than using the actual credit card.
You can read more about this here.

Ok.. but how NFC can be used to create a business, there are many Aveneues:
1. The biggest being the actual financial system.. Slowly Credit Card usage will go and all your Credit card can be stored in NFC cards which can be a small chip hidden inside your mobile. You will be able to use your mobile by just waving and pay to any store or any customer or even your friend. There is a need of system which can do that. There are whole lot of marketing opportunities which will open up.
2.  NFC can be also used as a loyalty card so many stores will go away with traditional loyalty cards and go with NFC in future.
3. As today’s mobile user base is increasing.. Actually now it is increasing where people are keeping 2-3 mobile phones.. so think about it, 2 cell phones, 2-3 credit cards, 2-3 loyalty cards, cash, etc.. you are always full.. why not just keep one mobile which does everything.. and as we know in today’s world it started to seem like you can live without clothes but not without mobile..lol.
4. Next one, big one.. just think that if you XYZ telecom operator and you have balance of 100 and your girlfriend uses the same operator but her balance is 10, you can just bring your phone near her phone and transfer say 40 to your girlfriend so you both now have 50 value worth recharge.. good one ?
5. Really Really Big and useful.. do you know with NFC, you can not only transfer payment etc.. but you can even share your battery.. so if your friend or your boss overused his phone and his battery is running low, you can actually transfer some battery life to him..Wow.. what a saver…
6. There are many other interesting things which NFC can do ranging from access control to attendance system to entire payment mechanism..

It is on entrepreneur to choose the right one and work on it.. It is surely going to make lot of buzz in near future.
